Delivery Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Delivery Professional is responsible for working directly with customers in a personable and professional manner while delivering products to customers’ homes. Additional responsibilities include merchandise handling, such as: loading, securing, delivering, set up, troubleshooting, and demonstrating products to confirm proper usage by the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Unpack, inspect, and prepare items to be delivered, making notes of special tools that may be required for installation.

2. Effectively manage time to complete the daily delivery schedule and to meet daily targets.

3. As appropriate, diplomatically instruct customers on the proper operation of the subject equipment.

4. Test and inspect equipment prior to departing from a customer sites.

5. Maintain a clean and well-organized delivery vehicle; maintain a sufficient inventory of tools commonly needed for delivery and installation; ensure that the necessary merchandise and tools are loaded on the vehicle prior to departing for daily deliveries; notify the Warehouse Manager when replacement tools need to be purchased.

6. At the end of each day, clean out truck and reorganize tools to ensure readiness for the following morning.

7. Assist Warehouse Manager with receipt, documentation, and inspection of incoming merchandise shipments.

8. Clean, sweep, and organize warehouse as needed and assist in keeping sales showrooms clean, ensure all garbage cans are emptied at the end of each week.

9. Maintain a clean, appropriate appearance and friendly, personable decorum at all times while present at the store and in customers' homes.

10. Adhere to policies and practices specified in the employee handbook.

11. Perform all other duties as assigned

CONTACT WITH OTHERS:

Internal: Has regular contact and communications with Warehouse Manager, and other store staff.

External: Has regular contact with customers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must demonstrate and maintain a personable approach to people

Must have an aptitude for mechanical and electronic installation work

Must maintain a valid driver’s license

SKILLS:

· Strong interpersonal and oral communication, problem solving, and listening skills

· Must possess up-to-date technological knowledge sufficient to meet job requirements

· Strong organizational and time management skills

· Must be an energetic worker with the ability to communicate effectively with others and solve problems quickly and efficiently

· Ability to organize daily objectives

· Maintain a pro-active approach to assuring positive relationships with our customers, and to assure the ongoing success and prosperity of the business.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Walking, standing, and/or climbing will be necessary. Heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching are also required.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed primarily in customers’ homes and businesses, with supplementary activity conducted within the Flick’s facility.
