Tacker Sewing Machine Operator Job Description
A Tacker Sewing Machine Operator is responsible for operating tacker or stapling machines to fasten materials together according to production specifications and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate tacker, stapling, or fastening machines safely and efficiently
- Attach fabric, foam, padding, leather, or other materials to frames or products
- Read work orders, blueprints, or production instructions
- Inspect materials and finished products for quality and accuracy
- Maintain production quotas and deadlines
- Load and position materials onto machines or workstations
- Perform routine machine cleaning and minor maintenance
- Follow safety procedures and company policies
- Report equipment malfunctions or production issues to supervisors
- Assist with assembly, packaging, or other production tasks as needed
Skills and Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing or upholstery experience is a plus
- Ability to use hand tools and pneumatic stapling/tacking equipment
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as needed
