Lead Software Engineer

Position Summary

Flexjet is currently seeking a talented Lead Software Engineer who is passionate about innovation

Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, development, and support of full-stack software solutions utilizing Angular, C#/.NET APIs, and SQL Server.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers through code reviews, architectural guidance, and coaching on engineering best practices.
• Design and develop scalable, high-performance, and highly available APIs and services consumed across multiple business-critical applications.
• Drive front-end architecture and user experience improvements using Angular and modern web development practices.
• Lead database design efforts, including data modeling, performance optimization, query tuning, and integration strategies within SQL Server environments.
• Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Enforce software development standards, architectural principles, and coding best practices across the team.
• Lead technical planning, estimation, and execution of strategic initiatives and large-scale projects.
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges spanning front-end, back-end, database, and integration components.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve application performance, maintainability, security, and developer productivity.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for critical production issues and provide leadership in root cause analysis and resolution efforts.
• Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment between technology solutions and business objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to application modernization, DevOps practices, and software quality.
  
  

Education & Experience

• 8 years of professional software development experience with increasing technical leadership responsibilities.
• Proven experience leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale full-stack applications.
• Extensive experience developing applications using Angular, C#/.NET APIs, and SQL Server.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles, software architecture patterns, distributed systems, microservices, and database design.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Proven ability to influence technical direction and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient with C#/.NET APIs, Visual Studio, and modern software engineering practices.
• Proficient in Angular development, including component architecture, state management, responsive design, and performance optimization.
• Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server development, including database design, stored procedures, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, application security, scalability, and performance optimization.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, facilitate architectural decision-making, and establish engineering standards.
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to grow engineering talent.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills across front-end, back-end, and database technologies.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
