(Port Allen, LA): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Material Coordinator to join our Industrial Storage Department. This full-time position plays a critical role in supporting pipeline construction, maintenance, and operations by managing the procurement, inventory, and distribution of materials. The Material Coordinator ensures the timely availability of high-quality materials while maintaining cost efficiency, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and providing leadership to warehouse personnel when the Division Manager is off-site.
Essential Duties:
• Receive and unload incoming shipments; verify materials against purchase orders.
• Inspect materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues promptly.
• Collaborate with Division Management to improve material handling processes.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems.
• Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile inventory variances.
• Ensure received materials meet customer specifications and Approved Manufacturer List (AML).
• Issue nonconformance reports for materials not meeting compliance standards.
• Oversee receiving and shipping operations, including supervision of warehouse personnel when management is off-site.
• Perform final quality checks before releasing materials for construction.
• Manage the material release process for construction projects.
• Administer receiving tickets and associated Material Test Reports (MTRs).
• Safely operate forklifts and other equipment to handle pipeline materials (e.g., pipes, valves, fittings).
• Organize materials in designated storage areas for efficient access and retrieval.
• Pick and prepare materials for delivery to pipeline construction sites.
• Coordinate with clients to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of materials.
• Ensure warehouse operations comply with OSHA and company safety standards.
• Comply with all FTS Core Safety Rules, policies, and procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or injuries immediately to management.
Requirements/Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse or material handling within industrial or pipeline environments (retail or unrelated experience not applicable).
• Familiarity with inventory management software and basic computer proficiency.
• Strong knowledge of pipeline materials, fittings, valves, and construction processes.
• Proven ability to lead or supervise warehouse personnel when required.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and safely operate warehouse equipment.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain an organized workflow.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching required.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
• Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and outdoor settings.
