The Process Engineering Manager will be based onsite in Austin, TX, responsible for leading the PCBA engineering team responsible for SMT, through hole, and secondary assembly processes. Ensure stable production performance, strong quality outcomes, and effective support for new product introductions (NPI) and continuous improvement.

The Process Engineering Manager will be based onsite in Austin, TX, responsible for leading the PCBA engineering team responsible for SMT, through hole, and secondary assembly processes. Ensure stable production performance, strong quality outcomes, and effective support for new product introductions (NPI) and continuous improvement.
What a typical day looks like:
- Lead and develop PCBA engineers and technicians; set priorities and manage daily/strategic activities.
- Own all PCBA processes (SMT, reflow, AOI/AXI, selective solder, wave solder).
- Drive yield, quality, and line performance improvements through structured problem solving.
- Oversee NPI readiness: DFM, tooling, documentation, prototype support, and production ramp.
- Ensure process control, standard work, SPC, and compliance with IPC A 610 and J STD 001.
- Partner with Operations and Quality to improve KPIs (FPY, DPMO, OEE, scrap).
- Support equipment strategy, upgrades, and implementation of automation or CI projects.
- Direct customer and technical interaction with strong oral and written skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ME/EE/MfgE/IE or related).
- 7 years of PCBA process engineering experience; strong SMT and soldering expertise.
- 2 years of leadership or technical lead experience.
- Experience driving yield/quality improvements and leading root cause investigations.
- Familiarity with Lean/CI, PFMEA, SPC, and DOE.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced PCBA technology experience (fine pitch, micro components, selective solder, coating).
- NPI leadership experience in high mix or high volume environments.
- CI certification (Green Belt/Black Belt).
- Experience with MES or digital manufacturing tools.
