Job Summary:
This position involves setting up Tandem Lines, Transfer Press and/or Automatic Presses. Responsibilities include programming and adjusting end-of-arm tooling, feed equipment, conveyors, and other machinery.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes to place and remove dies, coils, blanks, and other equipment required for JCO and pre-stage processes.
- Perform JCO start-to-finish operations.
- Load coils onto uncoilers, thread them through feed lines ensuring proper alignment with dies, and adjust set and pitch settings as needed.
- Install and adjust end-of-arm tools (EOAT) to ensure proper pick-and-place functions for efficient job execution.
- Set up necessary items for production readiness, including part exit conveyors, chutes, scrap shakers, die lubricant, sensors, and other equipment.
- During production mode, perform pre-staging of next scheduled jobs where applicable.
- Maintain automation systems and components by performing adjustments, calibrations, alignments, and modifications as required.
- Organize and keep the die storage area clean and tidy.
- In cases of absenteeism or vacations, fill in for APOs and Line Tenders to ensure production schedules are met.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Abilities / Education & Experience:
- Pass a written mechanical aptitude/knowledge test.
- Demonstrate ability to read instructions and perform tasks accordingly.
- Understand basic arithmetic concepts, including positive and negative numbers, and their application to robotics.
- Familiarity with metric and standard (English) measurement systems.
- Able to read, comprehend, and navigate multiple HMI screens.
- Knowledge of Fanuc and ABB robots, HMS transfer systems, Die Protection units (Rexcon, Smart-Pac, Wintriss), coil feedlines, straighteners, and feeder systems.
- Ability to communicate technical information to colleagues and other personnel involved in equipment operation and maintenance.
- Use hand tools, lubricants, and other devices safely and effectively.
- Demonstrate good attendance record.
- Physically able to lift at least 50lbs, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel, stand, or walk continuously in confined spaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, with additional education or training in related fields desirable.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for production equipment and programs to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Willingness to work mandatory overtime as required, including 6-7 days per week.
