How You Will Make an Impact
The Intervention Specialist instructs and assesses assigned students with disabilities in a personalized instructional
environment, working with students and/or parents to determine and evaluate the students academic plan. This
position will collaborate with school administration and faculty to support student retention and academic
success.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, ETC.
Knowledge in a variety of educational programs
Ability to work with a diverse student population
Ability to learn new educational technologies
Verbal and written communication skills
Planning and organizational skills
Record-keeping skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid Ohio Educator License Intervention Specialist Mild/Moderate K-12th grade required
Prior Experience working with children (with SLD, ED, MR, Autism, & other special needs) strongly recommended
Teaching experience preferred; experience in a diverse setting preferred
Proficient in student information systems
Intermediate or Advanced, or Expert skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
TRAVEL: Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Mental Demands: high workflow management, high project coordination, high people engagement
Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together
Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly
Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information
Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machinery
Physical Strength: sedentary work. Sitting most of the time, and occasionally exerts up to 10 lbs. of force (almost all office jobs)
Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required
Working in a noisy, distracting environment with frequent deadline pressures
