Duties
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic, and other telecommunication wiring according to schematics and NEC (National Electrical Code) standards
- Use hand tools and power tools to run cables through walls, ceilings, and conduits in commercial or industrial settings
- Conduct cable testing using ohmmeters and other testing devices to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients regarding installation progress and resolving technical issues efficiently
Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC) and safety protocols related to low voltage wiring installations
- Experience with schematics reading, network installation procedures, and computer hardware setup
- Ability to operate hand tools (wire strippers, crimpers) and power tools safely and effectively
- Customer service orientation with clear communication skills to assist clients during installation or troubleshooting processes
