Role Description This is a full-time earn/learn, on-site Apprentice role based in Penn Yan, NY. The Apprentice will be enrolled in a formal apprentice program sanctioned by the American Culinary Federation and may qualify for Federal and State Department of Labor accredidatoin. The Apprentice will move through various support operations, which may include assisting with front-of-house guest services, back-of-house , and basic property management tasks. The role will also include learning to use management systems, maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas, and following company policies and safety procedures. Under the guidance of experienced team members and supervisors, the Apprentice will receive hands-on training to build skills and gain exposure to multiple areas of hospitality operations.
Qualifications
- Interest in hospitality, especially restaurants, with a willingness to learn and take on a variety of tasks.
- Strong customer service mindset, with the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and interact respectfully with guests, clients, and coworkers.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow directions, manage time effectively, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on-site in Penn Yan, NY, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing guest needs or operational issues.
- Comfort with learning new tools and systems; prior experience in hospitality, retail, or customer-facing roles is helpful but not required.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks such as light lifting, bending, and moving supplies as required by the role.
