Position Overview
The Construction Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for directing all field and project operations at Fletco Construction. This person ensures our jobs are safe, profitable, well-coordinated, and executed with the level of quality our clients expect.
You will mentor Project Managers and Superintendents, streamline operations, enhance communication across teams, and support the CEO with operational insight and decision-making.
This is a high-impact role with direct influence on overall company performance and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
Oversee daily construction operations across all active projects.
Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams.
Maintain consistent processes for scheduling, reporting, documentation, and project controls.
Conduct routine site visits to support teams, evaluate performance, and resolve issues proactively.
Coordinate manpower, equipment, and resource allocation across projects.
Lead weekly operations meetings to review progress, challenges, and upcoming needs.
Financial & Contract Oversight
Review and approve monthly pay applications and cost reports.
Monitor budgets, productivity, and financial health of each project.
Support change order management and subcontractor coordination.
Collaborate with the CEO on forecasting, financial visibility, and operational planning.
Safety & Quality
Champion Fletco’s commitment to a strong safety culture.
Ensure all jobs comply with OSHA and internal safety standards.
Reinforce company expectations for workmanship and quality.
Support quality control from preconstruction through punch-out.
Team Leadership & Development
Recruit, onboard, and develop operations staff.
Foster collaboration between office and field.
Build accountability, communication, and a solutions-focused team culture.
Preconstruction Collaboration
Work closely with the Director of Preconstruction on schedules, logistics, and constructability.
Ensure a seamless transition from preconstruction to operations.
Provide field-driven insight to improve planning and project outcomes.
Client & Relationship Management
Serve as a trusted point of contact for clients throughout construction.
Build strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, and community partners.
Represent Fletco with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to delivering value.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
8–12 years of progressive experience in commercial construction.
Leadership experience overseeing multiple projects or an operations team.
Strong understanding of scheduling, contracts, budgets, and construction best practices.
Proficiency in Procore, Sage 100, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Office.
Experience implementing or operating in a paperless workflow environment.
