Job Summary
The Church Custodian is responsible for the cleaning, upkeep, and general maintenance of church facilities, including the sanctuary, office suite, fellowship hall, and onsite preschool. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, demonstrates initiative, and understands the importance of preparing a clean and welcoming space for worship, fellowship, and ministry.
Duties
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, classrooms, offices, preschool, meeting rooms, and other church facilities.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpets.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean and prepare the sanctuary, fellowship hall, and other spaces before and after worship services, meetings, and special events.
- Arrange and move tables, chairs, and other furnishings as needed.
- Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies and notify the appropriate person when supplies are running low.
- Perform routine building checks and report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or necessary repairs.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and completing minor repairs, within the employee’s training and abilities.
- Secure the building, including locking doors and checking designated areas, as assigned.
- Complete other custodial and facility-related duties as needed.

Pay: $1,400.00 - $1,600.00 per month
