Role Description
This is a full-time Heavy Equipment Mechanic role based in Westford, MA. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery and company vehicles, ensuring efficient and safe operations. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing equipment issues, performing regular maintenance, conducting thorough inspections, and troubleshooting malfunctions to sustain equipment reliability and productivity. Collaboration with team members to ensure prompt and effective service is an integral aspect of this role.
QualificationsMust have at least 12 months of diesel technician / mechanic experience.
Must be familiar with hydraulic systems, as well as air brakes. Equipment includes but is not limited to loaders, forklifts, cranes, trucks, generators, granite cutting saws, trains, drills, and compressors.
Must be physically fit & capable of lifting at least 70 pounds frequently; manual dexterity, bending, & stooping required.
Must maintain a valid commercial drivers license at all times.
Must be reliable, punctual, flexible, diligent, efficient, able to work with and communicate with others effectively and professionally. Problem solving is inherent in the position.
- Proven skills in Equipment Maintenance and Equipment Repair
- Expertise in Heavy Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance practices
- Strong abilities in Troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues
- Technical knowledge of equipment systems and tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Relevant certifications or a degree in mechanics or a related field is preferred
- Experience with heavy equipment in the construction or stone production industry is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
