The basic function of the Technician is to assist with the day-to-day installation process from project beginning to completion. The Technician is responsible for assisting with delivering the project Scope of Work (SOW) as stated in the signed documentation. The Technician will report to the Lead Technician/Field Supervisor/Project Manager all project status updates, project issues, project milestones, and project schedule concerns. The Technician is responsible for assisting with the installation, configuration, and testing of low voltage systems as well as to be a leader when dealing with other Technicians and Installers to ensure great work ethics, moral and growth within the team.

  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees, and yourself, to ensure the safety of our team to include shutting down a project until safety concerns are met after discussing with the Lead Technician, Field Supervisor, or Project Manager.
  • Ensure that all Fleming Companies and OSHA safety standards are met on each jobsite daily.
  • Receive direction orally, verbally, and visionally and accurately apply direction receive to daily tasks.
  • Coordinate, with project team members daily operations and delegate responsibilities of operations to team members.
  • Maintain team discipline, resolve conflicts, and promote and maintain team morale.
  • Performing quality control checks with the Field Supervisor/Project Manager/Director of Field Operations to ensure quality.
  • Attending Project Kickoff, Turn-Over, and Closeout meetings as requested.
  • Transport team members to and from job sites as needed.
  • Work great both inside a team and individually.
  • Communicate with Lead Technician/Field Supervisor/Project Manager regarding project tasks and direction.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customer contacts.
  • Provide accurate updates to the Lead Technician/Field Supervisor/Project Manager about projects assigned.
  • Lead an installation team in the RI, TO, Programming, and Testing phase of a project.
  • Complete close-out documentation, required project update forms, training signoffs, and other paperwork as required.
  • Provide accurate forecasting of manpower and material needs, project issues, and project schedule concerns at least (2) weeks in advance on projects.
  • Assist the Lead Technician/Field Supervisor/Project Manager in project scheduling as well as manpower and material needs.
  • Troubleshoot system issues in the field to move project forward and provide support to other team members regarding troubleshooting.
  • Provide accurate time recording of hours performed on individual project.
  • Ability to accurately train end-user on systems being installed.
  • Perform weekly truck, tool, and truck stock inspections to ensure team readiness and organization.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Clean driving record and background.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to learn quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with no supervision.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to manage teams of (2-5) technicians on multiple projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, electrical, fire, national and local building codes.
  • Physical demands include the employee to have the ability to lift and/or move (50) pounds unassisted.
  • Agree to work in all types of environments such as indoors, outdoors, extreme heat or cold, environmentally uncontrolled sites, and around potentially dangerous construction equipment and/or materials.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as needed on assigned projects.
