The Hall Monitor oversees the unstructured areas of the building to which they are assigned to ensure the safety of building occupants and the orderly movement of students and visitors throughout the building.
- Minimum requirement of high school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass all background checks
- Supervise the movement of students and visitors throughout the building
- Supervise entrance ways, ensuring that all visitors to the building promptly report to the office to register Implement building/district safety procedures
- Walk throughout the building checking all unstructured/unsupervised areas including restrooms and locker rooms
- Approach both students and visitors in a friendly yet firm manner and be able to articulate the proper procedures and expectations to comply with building and district policies/procedures
- Immediately notify the building administrator when an individual fails to follow building/district procedures
- Ability to learn/attend Safety Care training to assist in dealing with students. Training provided by the District Ability to recognize, respect, and maintain the confidentiality of issues, records, and information
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Personal characteristics are indicative of maturity, flexibility, tactfulness, cooperation, and cheerfulness that are conducive to a harmonious relationship with school district personnel, and the public
- Appropriately dressed, dependable, loyal, and discreet
