FOOD SERVICE WORKER

The Food Service Cafeteria Worker shall be responsible for providing students and staff an excellent customer service experience offering a nutritional, eye-appealing meal while ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe working environment according to ServSafe and HACCP regulations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Some experience in food service operations is helpful.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Must pass all background checks.
- Assist with pre-portioning of food and preparing cafeteria line for serving periods.
- Serve students and staff their meal in a friendly, timely fashion paying attention to portion size, the temperature of food, and pleasing appearance of food.
- Stock milk and beverage cases, restock and gather paper goods, and arrange general display of food, fruit, and condiments.
- Maintain daily production records and temperature report logs.
- Transport soiled dishes, pots, and pans to the dishwashing area.
- Run and clean dishwasher; scrub pots, pans, and other items used in preparation of food and put away in the proper place.
- Operate calculator and pre-programmed cash register, record payments received for food items during the mealtime.
- Fill carts with trays for serving lines.
- Return clean dishes, silverware, and trays to designated locations.
- Check student tray to assume compliance with qualified reimbursable meals, ala cate prices, and food allergies. Adhere to parent requests for account control.
- Assist with cleanup of the cafeteria including wiping down counters, sinks, appliances, fans, and tables, washing warming wells, milk/beverage cabinets, ice cream freezers, sweeping/mopping floors, etc.
- Assist in food preparation including cooking, slicing meats and cheeses, and portioning food.
- Demonstrates reliability by consistently reporting to work on time and maintaining regular attendance.
Payrate: $15.82/hour
