We are seeking a motivated and experienced Transportation Safety Manager to lead our fleet safety and compliance initiatives. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations, promoting a strong safety culture, and partnering with drivers and operations to minimize risk while maintaining the highest safety standards.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain company safety policies and programs in compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state regulations.
- Maintain Driver Qualification Files (DQFs), including MVRs, medical certifications, CDL verification, and required documentation.
- Administer and audit DOT drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion testing.
- Monitor CSA scores and develop corrective action plans to improve safety performance.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Conduct safety audits for drivers, vehicles, and terminal operations.
- Monitor Hours of Service (HOS), Electronic Logging Device (ELD) compliance, and driver performance.
- Review telematics and dash camera data to identify unsafe driving behaviors and provide coaching.
- Conduct new driver orientation and ongoing safety training.
- Prepare for DOT audits and maintain compliance with roadside inspections, annual inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and other safety-related initiatives.
- Prepare safety reports and present trends and recommendations to leadership.
- Stay current on FMCSA, DOT, and state regulatory changes.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree in Safety, Transportation, Logistics, or related field preferred).
- At least 1 year of experience in transportation safety, fleet safety, DOT compliance, or trucking operations.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT drug and alcohol testing requirements, and Hours of Service regulations.
- Experience with ELD systems, telematics platforms, and Driver Qualification File management.
- Strong analytical, investigative, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience conducting audits and presenting findings to management.
Preferred
- Experience managing CSA scores and preparing for DOT audits.
- CDL or previous commercial driving experience is a plus, but not required.

Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
