Shop Service Technician

Overview

FleetFix Truck Service is seeking a dependable Diesel Technician to assist with the maintenance and basic repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on experience or mechanical interest who wants to build a career in the diesel industry. As a Shop Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that vehicles and equipment are operating at peak performance. This position requires both technical expertise and a commitment to quality service.

Duties

• Perform various types of light repairs and maintenance on heavy trucks/buses.
• Conduct diagnostics to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Repair diesel engines, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with team members to improve shop efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Skills

• Perform basic maintenance on diesel vehicles (oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements)
• Assist senior mechanics with inspections and repairs
• Identify and report mechanical issues or concerns
• Clean and prepare parts, tools, and work areas
• Conduct routine checks on tires, brakes, and batteries
• Follow safety procedures and company guidelines
• Keep accurate, simple service records
• Support general shop duties as needed
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Basic problem-solving skills
• Good attention to detail
• Physically able to lift moderate weight and work in a shop environment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Previous mechanical experience or interest in diesel engines is an asset
• Willingness to learn and take direction
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment
• Valid driver’s license

Shift

Monday to Friday 7:30am to 4pm or 8am to 4:30pm
