We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Fire Alarm and Security Installation Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, inspecting, and maintaining fire alarm systems and security solutions across various commercial and residential sites. Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems, sensors, and associated low voltage wiring in accordance with schematics, blueprints, and system design specifications
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, CAD drawings, and construction documents to ensure precise system installation
- Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning of fire alarm panels, sensors, and alarm devices to guarantee optimal operation
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site, performing repairs or upgrades as needed, and documenting all work performed
- Assist in system sales activities by explaining features to clients and supporting fire alarm sales initiatives while ensuring compliance with safety regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire alarm installation, service technician roles, or related field service positions within the construction or security industry
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools for system installation and maintenance
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and technical manuals accurately
- Knowledge of low voltage wiring practices, sensors, alarms systems design, and electrical experience related to fire alarm systems
- Familiarity with NEC standards governing electrical installations and construction inspection processes
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems efficiently
- Effective communication skills for working with team members, clients, and vendors in a fast-paced environment
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience in low-voltage system installation
- Basic computer skills and ability to operate in a Windows environment
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
- Ability to obtain state licensing and pass background check
- Ability to lift 50lbs several times daily, navigate ladders and scaffolding, and work in confined space
