Duties
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of landscape architecture projects, ensuring alignment with client goals and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive project scopes and design concepts.
- Prepare detailed drawings and models using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Land Surveying tools.
- Utilize GIS platforms like ArcView and ArcGIS for site analysis, mapping, and environmental impact assessments.
- Develop construction documents including specifications for hardscape elements, irrigation systems, planting plans, and sustainable design features.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery within scope.
- Conduct site visits for land surveying, landscape maintenance inspections, construction progress monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Prepare construction estimating reports and assist with procurement processes.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all phases of construction and landscape installation.
- Coordinate with contractors on installation procedures for hardscape features such as paving, retaining walls, fencing, and other structural elements.
- Implement sustainable design practices that promote environmental stewardship and resource efficiency.
- Provide guidance on horticulture selections that enhance aesthetic appeal while supporting ecological health.
- Manage project documentation including reports, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), and progress updates.
Skills
- Proficiency in landscape design software including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhinoceros 3D, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Adobe Photoshop & Creative Suite tools.
- Strong knowledge of GIS platforms such as ArcView and ArcGIS for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Experience with land surveying techniques and civil engineering principles relevant to landscape projects.
- Expertise in construction management practices including estimating costs and coordinating installation activities.
- Solid understanding of horticulture principles for plant selection and landscape maintenance strategies.
- Familiarity with irrigation system design and implementation to optimize water efficiency.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings like CAD files for accurate site development planning.
