Duties
- Conduct engaging and effective driving lessons for students in standard passenger cars, covering basic to advanced techniques.
- Provide personalized behind-the-wheel training that emphasizes safe driving practices.
- Assess student progress regularly, offering constructive feedback and tailored coaching to enhance their skills and confidence.
- Maintain clear communication with students and their families about lesson plans, progress updates, and safety tips through both in-person and online instruction platforms.
- Adhere strictly to traffic regulations and safety standards during all instructional activities, ensuring a secure learning environment.
- Support driver improvement programs and rehabilitation initiatives by guiding individuals with specific needs or past infractions toward safer driving habits.
Qualifications
- Valid NYS Instructor Certificate as a Driving Instructor with proven experience in senior driver instruction, teen driver education, or specialized driver training programs.
- GED or High School Diploma
- Valid Drivers license and clean DMV driving record abstract.
- Proficiency in operating standard passenger cars under various weather conditions.
- Strong knowledge of traffic safety regulations, highway maneuvers, defensive driving techniques, night driving strategies, adverse weather handling, and special needs accommodations.
- Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and backgrounds while promoting a positive learning experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to foster trust and motivation among learners while maintaining professionalism at all times.
