Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and blueprints to determine concrete finishing requirements and specifications.
- Prepare forms and frameworks using carpentry and formwork construction skills to shape concrete structures accurately.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, heavy equipment, and concrete mixers safely and efficiently for pouring, cutting, and finishing concrete surfaces.
- Perform concrete pouring, screeding, troweling, and finishing to achieve smooth, level surfaces with precise edges and textures.
- Install rebar and metal supports as specified in technical drawings to reinforce concrete structures.
- Conduct concrete cutting, caulking, and sealing tasks to ensure durability and compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to construction workplace safety regulations while managing heavy lifting, scaffolding setup, and working at heights when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects including masonry, plastering, restoration, roofing, tile laying, flooring installation, and other related trades.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics accurately to execute complex concrete forms and finishes aligned with project plans.
- Assist in the operation of heavy machinery such as concrete pumps or mixers when required for large-scale pours or specialized applications.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as masonry or carpentry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, power equipment, and heavy machinery used in concrete work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently for precise execution of tasks.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and understanding of project timelines is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations including OSHA standards or equivalent safety protocols.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools such as trowels, floats, screeds, saws, drills, as well as power tools required for concrete work.
- Experience with rebar installation, formwork construction, concrete pouring techniques, and finishing methods like troweling or stamping.
- Capable of heavy lifting and working in physically demanding environments for extended periods.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving if required for site access or material transportation.
