POSITION SUMMARY
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, and control of parts and services in support of field operations. This role supervises a team of materials personnel, ensuring efficient purchasing, receiving, stocking, and inventory management. The Materials Supervisor works daily in the Electronic Inventory Control System (EICS), coordinates with vendors, and ensures timely receipt and distribution of goods and services. The Supervisor is accountable for maintaining high standards of accuracy, organization, and compliance within the materials department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and mentor materials team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Oversee creation and approval of purchase orders in the EICS, ensuring transactions comply with company directives.
- Manage vendor relationships, coordinating deliveries, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring service standards are met.
- Ensure accurate receipt and documentation of goods and services in the EICS.
- Direct the delivery and organization of parts in stockrooms, ensuring proper accommodations and vendor coordination.
- Maintain clean, organized, and efficient stockrooms, with clear bin locations and accurate EICS records.
- Lead inventory counts and reconciliation processes in accordance with the Physical Inventory Policy, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Analyze inventory trends, identifying slow-moving or excessive stock for redistribution or sale.
- Oversee item/stockroom setups, transfers, and adjustments as required.
- Collaborate with Operations Management to establish and maintain optimal inventory stocking levels.
- Develop and maintain a preferred vendor list for assigned territory, ensuring competitive pricing and service.
- Ensure vendor pricing and service compliance with established agreements.
- Promote a safe, organized, and tidy workplace, enforcing company policies and safety standards.
- Foster strong relationships with all departments, ensuring high-quality service delivery to internal and external customers.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management or a related supervisory role.
- High School diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications preferred.
- Familiarity with reciprocating compression equipment.
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software Suite.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematic diagrams.
- Willingness to participate in a call rotation and accommodate the 24/7 nature of the oil and gas industry.
- Ability to remain task-oriented and composed under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS
This role involves various physical activities, including standing, walking, sitting, and driving for extended periods. The position may require occasional bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting up to 20 pounds.
WORK CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT
- Regular Hours: Office Hours with a regular start time of 7:00 AM
- Potential for overtime during demand periods, high priority tasks, or emergencies.
- Weekend Work: May be occasionally required.
- Exposure to diverse environmental conditions, including chemicals, noise, and confined spaces.
