Job Title: Recreation Soccer Coordinator

Position Summary: Flatirons Rush is searching for a qualified candidate to join our club as Recreation Soccer Coordinator. The Recreation Soccer Coordinator will assist the club General Manager in day to day operations of our Intermediate Academy. The Flatirons Rush Intermediate Academy is our youngest group of recreation based players ranging from U5 - U8. This program is an inter-league program where we have 16 to 20 teams of 6 to 8 players that practice one to two nights per week and play one game per week.
The Recreation Soccer Coordinator is responsible for cultivating the love of soccer and providing an environment that embodies the Rush core values, philosophy and development (both development of coaches and players). The Coach is responsible for providing continuity for the overall soccer experience for players, coaches and parents that is consistent with the club mission and values.
Flatirons Rush operates in accordance with the “Rush Way” and strives to provide youth athletes with a positive soccer experience, which incorporates the teaching of proper skill development, team participation, respect and fun. Coaches are expected to help build good character by helping each player gain self-confidence, team good sportsmanship and to respect all those who participate in any soccer environment.
Key Responsibilities: To include the following responsibilities as well as additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist Club General Manager with the day to day operations of the recreational program to include setting fields, striking fields, supporting volunteer coaches and potentially coaching 1 to 2 teams.
- Exemplifies the club Core Values, every player feels valued irrespective of the playing level they may possess
- Respectful communication towards other coaches, referees, players and parents at all times. Is approachable and takes feedback from others in a positive and constructive manner
- Adhere to the curriculum as set by Flatirons Soccer Club and Coaching Director.
- Capable of meeting day to day expectations of a coach as set by the coaching director to include but not limited to:
- Arrive to all practices, games, club events with a positive attitude and prepared to adjust your coaching demeanor/style based on the age group
- Provide a safe and fun environment for the players at practices and games and other club events including items such as monitoring weather conditions, ensuring that only coaches and players are on the field
- Practice sessions Monday through Thursday in the afternoon/evenings
- Games take place on Fridays
- Arrive at all practices and games at a time determined by General Manager.
- Assist coaching team with management of gear & equipment to ensure we the have appropriate equipment needed and to make sure it is stored in a safe and organized manner
Skills & Qualifications:
- Possess suitable knowledge and understanding of player ability at relative age
- Adaptable; multiple approaches to team / individual development and willing to adapt to Flatirons Soccer’s approach
- Excellent verbal/written communication and dispute resolution skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates ability to working a nontraditional work schedule
- Successful completion of background check
- Colorado Drivers License and clean driving record
Preferred Experience:
- Experience coaching in a youth club environment
Location Details & Requirements of the Job:
- The position of Recreation Soccer Coordinator is an in person position that requires work in the evenings and potentially on weekends.
