Position Summary
The Development Manager supports the organization’s fundraising efforts by managing donor databases, coordinating events, overseeing social media, administering gift acknowledgements, and leading annual giving programs. This role ensures strong donor stewardship, accurate data management, and effective execution of fundraising initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Manage gift acknowledgements, including timely thank-you letters and tax receipts
- Maintain donor records, gift entry, and reporting within the CRM (Bloomerang)
- Manage a portfolio of donors to steward
Annual Giving
- Plan and execute annual giving campaigns, including appeals and recurring giving
- Track performance and provide reporting on annual giving efforts at board meetings
Events & Community Engagement
- Coordinate fundraising events, including logistics, promotion, and follow-up
- Collaborate with volunteers, event committee, and vendors to ensure successful events
Marketing & Communications
- Manage social media platforms in alignment with development goals
- Support fundraising-related email communications and campaigns
Grants Support
- Research and prepare grant applications to support general operating
- Track grant deadlines and reporting requirements
- Support Director of Development with documentation and data for larger grants
Required Qualifications
· Strong knowledge of donor relations, sponsorship acquisition, and fundraising events
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
· Proficiency in social media platforms, digital communication, and donor database management
· A strategic thinker with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
· Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, board members, staff, and community stakeholders
· Ability to be flexible, positive, and adaptable in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
· Enthusiastic and passionate about the mission of the Flathead Food Bank and the culture of teamwork and collaboration

· Flexible Schedule: This is a full-time position with flexibility in the work schedule including the option to regularly work four-10-hour shifts per week
