Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods along assigned routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations
- Plan efficient delivery routes to optimize time and fuel usage, demonstrating strong organizational skills
- Interact professionally with customers upon delivery, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any questions or concerns
- Handle heavy lifting of merchandise and packages with proper technique to ensure safety and efficiency
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, enhancing sales opportunities during deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met and report any maintenance needs promptly
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving or route driving preferred, with a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety procedures
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for handling pricing, measurements, and inventory counts
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during deliveries
- Strong organizational skills to manage routes and delivery schedules effectively
- Prior experience in sales or upselling is a plus, along with a background in customer service roles
- Military experience involving logistics or driving is considered an asset
