Position Overview
Flatrock-Hawcreek School Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered individual to serve as an Elementary Science Specials Teacher for grades 1–6. This non-certified position will provide engaging, hands-on science instruction to elementary students on a rotating specials schedule.
The ideal candidate will foster curiosity, creativity, and a love of science while creating a positive and supportive classroom environment for all learners.
Responsibilities
- Teach science classes to students in grades 1–6 on a specials rotation schedule
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging science lessons and activities
- Create a safe, organized, and positive learning environment
- Encourage student inquiry, exploration, and participation
- Collaborate with elementary teachers and school staff
- Maintain classroom materials and equipment
- Follow school policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Preference will be given to applicants who hold or are working toward an education degree
- Experience working with children is preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Passion for science education and student learning
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and students
