What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Flat Iron Cooperative?
- pay is base pay plus tips
- make and serve drinks to customers-barista experience a plus, but not required, we are willing to train the right candidate
- taking orders and handling cash/card payments through our POS
- ensure our shop is clean in all areas (includes: washing dishes when needed, wiping tables, vacuuming, mopping, etc...)
- maintain a clean and well stocked workspace
- ensure proper food handling procedures are followed
- be an all around pleasant and helpful person
- a positive and friendly personality with solid customer service skills
- reliable and punctual
- self motivated
- ability to stay on feet for 5-8 hours, lift up to 50 lbs., and manage stairs with supplies
- ability to multitask and stay organized in a often fast paced environment
- we are a worker owned co-op, this provides an opportunity for you to become a worker-owner and help make decisions about the cooperative. as well as the day to day management of the operations.
- We are looking to invest in a possible future business partner. We prefer applicants who intend to take this job long term and who have the ambition to advance to ownership.
- weekend availability for at least one weekend day is strongly preferred
- Availability on Thursdays preferred.
