Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security risks
- Monitor CCTV surveillance systems to oversee activity and ensure safety protocols are maintained
- Control access points using advanced access control systems, verifying identities and authorizations
- Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, or incidents with appropriate procedures including emergency response protocols
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any unusual activity, security breaches, or accidents for record-keeping and follow-up
- Perform background checks on visitors or contractors as required to ensure compliance with security policies
- Utilize conflict management skills to de-escalate tense situations and maintain order in a professional manner
Skills
- Proven experience in surveillance techniques and physical security measures
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and legal regulations related to security operations
- Ability to operate security equipment such as CCTV cameras, access control systems, AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators), Taser devices, and firearms (for armed officers) safely and responsibly
- Strong conflict de-escalation and conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with visitors, staff, or clients
- Physical capability for heavy lifting, manual handling, and patrolling over extended periods
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures including CPR, first aid certification, AED operation, and fire safety protocols
- Attention to detail in incident report writing and performing background checks in compliance with security regulations
