Traveling Dry Plant Operator

Job Description:
The FLASH Family of Companies is seeking a Wisconsin-based crew to support operations at our Texas Frac plant in Saint Jo (north TX; approx. 80 miles NW of DFW). Team members will travel via private charter aircraft from Oshkosh, WI to Texas and work a rotating schedule of two weeks on / two weeks off, averaging approximately 80 hours per week while on-site.
All travel, lodging, and accommodations are provided by the company. This position is ideal for dependable, hard-working individuals who are comfortable with travel and extended work rotations in an industrial/mining environment.
The Dry Plant Operator/Lab Technician will be cross-trained in and responsible for operating the dry plant, as well as perform testing of gradations of finished sand. Basic mechanical skills are required for assisting the maintenance department with overall plant maintenance and repair.

Job Requirements:
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
These key duties include, but are not limited to:

• Operation and knowledge of dry plant startup/shutdown procedures
• Assist maintenance department in maintaining the dry plant
• Perform calibration, operation, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment according to procedures and manufacturers requirements
• Obtain samples and perform sieve and turbidity tests of washed or finished sand grades
• Maintain records and samples per company and API standards
• Report and assist in correcting out of spec processes at the wash plant and dry plant
• Performs tests and analyzes results from defective or suspect units to determine the causes of failure under the direction of the Plant Manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Lab or plant operator experience a plus
• Capable of climbing stairs and access ladders several times per day
• In good general health
• Capable of lifting up to 75 pounds
• Basic mechanical skills required
• Understand and comply with mining safety and environmental regulations
• Able to work and communicate with fellow employees Pass toxicity test
• Medical clearance to wear respiratory protection
• Team-oriented, effective communicator (verbal and written), able to offer technical expertise and guidance, and have the ability and willingness to build rapport with team members and external agencies
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities appropriately
• Standard current computer applications knowledge, including word processing and spreadsheets

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, sitting, squatting, talking, hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and fingers movements, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching or grasping
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and push and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed and engage in strenuous physical activity
