What are the responsibilities and job description for the wire edm/cnc mill programmer/operator position at Flannery Machine & Tool?
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision parts according to blueprints and specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and meet production goals.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating CNC milling machines and related equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM) techniques.
- Familiarity with plasma cutting, stamping press, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with tooling selection, setup, and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
- Basic understanding of welding techniques is a plus.
- Proficient in using hand tools and measuring instruments.
