Shipping Clerk- International

Our Evansville Logistics team has an opening for aShipping Clerk - International! This role will assist the coordination of daily domestic and international shipping functions in the Logistics Department.

Primary Responsibilities

Assist Coordination of Inventory/Materials

• Place orders (purchase requisitions) to obtain an adequate supply of shipping and receiving materials.
• Maintain knowledge of proper packaging methods.
• Maintain knowledge of most common shipping and receiving equipment.
• Obtain and maintain certification as a FLANDERS certified fork truck operator.
  
  

Shipping

• Assist management with developing agreements with freight carriers and monitoring their performance.
• Make arrangements for pick-up by the specified carrier(s) of all domestic outbound shipments. Make arrangements for pick-up of international outbound shipments as needed.
• Complete all commercial documents for international shipments.
• Complete Bill-of-Lading forms.
• Maintain knowledge of various forms and software used and required by freight, international, and parcel carriers.
• Complete all appropriate internal and external documentation for proper shipping procedure.
• Provide proof of deliveries to the invoicing department as required.
• Complete freight requisitions as required.
• Package product appropriately for shipment.
• Load trucks for shipment.

• Assist the Shipping and Receiving Assistant(s) as needed in all areas.
• Promote teamwork by exhibiting positive teamwork with employees.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience in shipping
• Knowledge of shipping procedures
• International shipping experience required
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in computer systems including Microsoft Office software
• Ability to remain calm under time sensitive situations
• Ability to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division including understanding fractions and percentages
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple written and verbal instructions
• Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety procedures
• Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and decision making related to routine duties within set company standards
