We are looking for a Traction Motor Assembler to join the team in Longview, TX! The Traction Motor Assembler is responsible for assembling, inspecting, testing, and repairing traction motors. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to follow technical specifications and assembly procedures.
Here's What You'll Do:
- Assemble traction motors and related components according to blueprints, work instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Perform sub-assembly of motor components such as armatures, stators, rotors, and brush holders.
- Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, and specialized machinery to complete assemblies.
- Inspect and measure components to verify conformance to quality standards using precision instruments.
- Install bearings, seals, electrical windings, and insulation systems.
- Operate test equipment to ensure proper performance of completed motors.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot assembly issues or mechanical defects.
- Maintain accurate documentation and production records.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to resolve technical problems.
Here's What You'll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical or electrical assembly preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in industrial assembly, preferably in motor or electrical equipment manufacturing
- Strong mechanical and electrical assembly skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams
