What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Engineer Lead position at FLANDERS ELECTRIC MOTOR SERVICE LLC?
Supervise Field Engineering Services including performing electrical engineering services at customer locations and supervising Field Engineers/ Electrical Service Technicians.
- Supervisor
- Prioritize, schedule, and distribute work to be performed by the regional Service Department (Field Engineers and Electrical Service Technicians) and ensure a well-orchestrated workflow for quality workmanship.
- Assist and oversee work performed by Field Engineers and Electrical Service Technicians as needed.
- Provide technical information and data to Service Support Specialist for the creation of quotations and work scopes. Information includes job repair requirements, parts for order and use, and associated cost.
- Communicate with customers on technical questions and specifications.
- Identify and assist with repair and manufacturing training needs.
- Ensure that proper tools and necessary equipment are available and in good condition to perform the required work efficiently.
- Direct or provide on-the-job training as needed.
- Complete and deliver employee performance reviews for department personnel.
- Conduct performance corrective counseling in consultation with the Manager and/or Human Resources as needed.
- Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring of employees.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and with accuracy to employees, customers, and vendors.
- Engineer
o Provide technical services as it relates to routine and moderately complex maintenance and/or repair of control systems and their components at customer sites or in FLANDERS locations.
o Diagnose and troubleshoot issues as they relate to control systems, PLCs, VFDs drives and their components at customer sites or in FLANDERS shops.
o Provide after-hours support in person and/or over the phone.
o Complete necessary service, time tracking, and expense documentation.
o Maintain tools and test equipment properly.
o Communicate with FLANDERS’ account representative regarding the status of work as it applies to their customers.
