Our team in Lakeland, Florida has an opening for a Field Electrical Technician! The Field Electrical Technician will provide assistance to Field Service Engineers at customer site, to develop field electrical technical services which includes troubleshooting of control systems and their components, maintenance, and repair of motors, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Learn to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair issues as they relate to control systems and their components and motors.
- Identify and assist with repair needs.
- Receive on-the-job training from Field Engineers.
- Complete necessary service documentation.
- Maintain tools and test equipment properly.
- Communicate with customers on technical questions and specifications in accordance with Field Service Engineers directions.
- Complete necessary service, time tracking, and expense documentation.
- Ensure that all completed work meets Flanders' Standards and complies with Flanders' ISO Quality System.
- Communicate clearly, concisely, and with accuracy to employees, customers, and vendors.
Skills & Qualifications
- Education:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Associates degree and/or trade school degree in electrical or mechanical studies preferred.
o Or practical electrical experience in mining, metal, mills or heavy industrial industries.
- Experience:
o Three years electrical experience in a shop, field service and/or similar environment.
o Mining and metals industry experience preferred.
- Other:
o Knowledge of AC and DC motors.
o Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLC) and/or variable frequency drive (VFD) systems for machine troubleshooting.
o Ability to take after-hours calls
o Strong math skills including algebra, trigonometry, and analytical geometry skills
