Job Summary
We are looking for an afternoon, on site office personel who has experience with medical insurance authentification, and scheduling. Your attention to detail and knowledge of medical terminology will empower our facility to optimize reimbursements while maintaining compliance with industry standards. We are a small Physical Therapy office with a family like atmosphere. You must live within 30 minutes of our office.
Duties
- Insurance Authorization
- Afternoon scheduling and checking in patients.
- Answering phones
- Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign diagnosis codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding systems.
- Apply procedural codes such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) to document services rendered.
- Utilize DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications for hospital billing and reimbursement processes.
- Ensure proper documentation of medical billing details within Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Submit claims to insurance companies, follow up on unpaid or denied claims, and perform medical collections when necessary.
- Maintain comprehensive and organized medical records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy for optimal reimbursement.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, and DRG classifications.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency in medical billing processes and medical collection techniques.
- Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and claim submission.
- Familiarity with medical records management and regulatory compliance standards.
