Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Care Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, particularly for those with special needs such as dementia or developmental disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with mobility to ensure safety and comfort.
- Monitor and document patient observations.
- Administer basic medical tasks such as medication reminders or insulin as directed by healthcare providers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to hygiene standards. (Light housekeeping)
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and physical well-being. (Light stretching, walks, conversation, board games)
- Support individuals with developmental disabilities through tailored care approaches.
- Provide personal care assistance which may include bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic medical terminology to effectively communicate with healthcare teams.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and patient observation skills is highly desirable.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities, including developmental disabilities, is a plus.
- CPR certification is advantageous for ensuring client safety during emergencies.
- A strong understanding of senior care practices will enhance the quality of service provided.
