Job Responsibilities
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily cash, clearing, and revenue reconciliations for broker‑dealer and advisory platforms.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with monthly/quarter-end close processes.
- Process journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Assist with the preparation of financial data for FINRA, SEC, and state regulatory filings.
- Support revenue recognition processes, including commissions, advisory fees, and transaction charges.
- Partner with Operations to resolve breaks, exceptions, or billing discrepancies.
- Assist with commission reporting and payout calculations as needed.
- Prepare routine financial reports for management, including variance analyses and trend reviews.
- Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting activities.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Work closely with Finance, Compliance, Operations, and HR to support firmwide financial accuracy.
- Participate in system upgrades, process improvements, and workflow automation initiatives.
- Performs special projects, and additional duties and responsibilities as required.
- Consistently adheres to regulatory and compliance policies and standards linked to the job as listed and complete required compliance trainings. Accountable to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- Education level required: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent)
- Minimum experience required: 1 Years in Accounting
- Education level preferred: Undergraduate Degree (4 years or equivalent) in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience (financial services preferred).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (v‑lookups, pivot tables, formulas).
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in a broker‑dealer, RIA, or other regulated financial institution.
- Familiarity with FINRA financial reporting, net capital rules, or advisory billing processes.
- Experience with accounting/ERP systems and broker‑dealer clearing platforms.
- Knowledge of commission structures or custodial advisory fee billing a plus.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders by communicating clearly, engaging in proactive collaboration, and leveraging cross functional insights. Aligns relationship building efforts with enterprise goals to accelerate performance and drive strategic results.
- Builds trusted client relationships, whether internal or external, by identifying needs and delivering tailored solutions to enhance the overall client experience.
