Port Captain - Dry Bulk - Connecticut
This role is responsible for overseeing cargo operations across U.S. ports, ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially optimized vessel execution, and serving as the key liaison among vessels, charterers, and shoreside stakeholders. This is a hands-on operational role focused on safe, efficient vessel operations, cargo oversight, and the protection of commercial interests in port.
Key focus areas:
- Lead cargo operations (loading/discharge, stowage, cargo care)
- Act as the company’s representative in port—resolving issues in real time
- Advise chartering and vessel teams on operational performance
- Build relationships with terminals, agents, and service providers
- Ensure compliance, safety, and cost control across all activities
Profile:
- Chief Officer or former Master Mariner
- Strong U.S. port / cargo operations experience
- Commercially minded with strong communication skills
- Must have U.S. work authorization
