Pathologist Contractor Job Classification: Part time, Exempt
Position Summary
The Pathologist represents the Pathology function on project teams composed of PhD biologists, image analyst experts, histologists, statisticians, and regulatory scientists. The pathologist will deliver and/or review key scientific data supporting IHC/CISH assay development and advanced image analysis endpoints for testing
non-clinical and clinical hypotheses in primarily Oncology and Musculoskeletal disease. The position requires a highly motivated anatomic pathologist with excellent customer and presentation skills and the ability to work effectively within Flagship’s team-based environment.
Essential Job Functions
● Act as the pathology subject matter expert on cross-functional project teams
● Advise tissue biomarker development (immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization
predominantly) and evaluate tissue expression patterns in the context of disease pathogenesis and
progression
● Establish manual biomarker scoring strategies and apply to image analysis solutions for studies using
either preclinical or clinical samples
● Perform activities supporting the qualification or analytical validation of IHC/ISH biomarkers and
image analysis solutions
● Review image analysis annotation and algorithm outputs
● Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
● MD: Board certified by the ABP
● Advanced training or experience in immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization
● Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
