What are the responsibilities and job description for the Airport Attendant position at Flagler County?
Under general supervision, dispense fuel into transient and based aircraft; marshal, park, and reposition aircraft; perform daily inspections of airfield pavement, lighting, and NAVAIDS; observe airfield activity to assist in enforcing airport rules, regulations and minimum standards; and environmental guidelines are followed. Report and disseminate information regarding airport activities and facility conditions, safety and hazards, ensure safe and secure airport environment and information services to the public.
Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service. First point of contact with tenants, transient pilots and passengers, and general public.
- Marshall aircraft and maintain/organize ramp parking.
- Provide services such as refueling, ground start, and lavatory servicing for aircraft.
- Daily maintain fuel storage area and fuel trucks. Receive fuel shipments from supplier.
- Airfield and facility maintenance including: mowing, airfield lighting repair, FOD inspection, routine equipment maintenance..
- FBO duties to include, Point of Sale interaction with patrons, assemble daily sales transactions, custodial duties, monitor UNICOM radio and issue NOTAM’s as necessary.
- Assist in directing emergency response units during airfield emergencies
- Attend meetings, training sessions and conferences as required.
- Weekend and Holiday hours are required on a rotating basis.
- Call outs for fueling may require evening hours.
- Performs related duties as required.
- During emergencies, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.

Minimum Qualifications- Minimum 2-years experience as a FBO attendant or in airfield maintenance preferred.
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.
- A comparable amount of training or experience in a similar field may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

- Position requires good hand dexterity for operating equipment; ability to hear, comprehend and respond to patrons, co-workers and supervisors both orally and in writing.
