What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator of Student Engagement position at Flagler College?
The Coordinator of Student Engagement assists in the overall coordination and supervision of the student activities program including, but not limited to, weekly evening events, leadership development series, field trips, campus-wide collaborative programming and events demonstrating a commitment to the Core Values of Flagler College.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports programming efforts under the direction of the Director of Student Leadership & Engagement through the following:
- On and off campus programming and field trips
- Campus programming
- Multicultural Center programming
- Collaborative programming with other Student Affairs offices including health and wellness, housing operations and residential living, campus recreation and career development
· Coordinates and/or provides support for night-time programming to include:
- Night programming series
- Movie Showings
- Guest Speakers
- Collaborative programming with campus partners
- Student events and student-sponsored events
- Serves as point of contact and resource to Student Engagement/Multicultural Student Interns
- Provides administrative support to student clubs and organizations as needed
- Reviews and tracks all expenditures as they relate to student activities, club and organization programming and overall operational budget.
- Maintains accurate records of student involvement in co-curricular, programming events, databases and files, track data and expenditures, schedules building and facilities, compiles information for reports, processes emails and creates posters and fliers as needed.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Leadership & Engagement
- Serve on campus-wide committees as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- An understanding of and commitment to student belonging
- Ability to understand the needs of students
- Ability to collaborate and build relationships with students, faculty, and staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong management and organizational skills
- 1-2 years’ experience in student activities, leadership development and/or campus programming. Student affairs experience with an emphasis on student development strongly preferred
- 1 or more years of advising students on personal and academic matters

- Maintain productive and effective, inclusive working relationships amongst diverse populations including staff, faculty, administration, students, and other internal and external constituents
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to train and evaluate performance, taking corrective action as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time and occasionally walking and standing.
· Climbing, walking, crouching, repetitive motions, and ability to communicate appropriately with students/colleagues.
· Occasional hours outside the normal College work day to attend events, specifically nights and weekends.
