The Lead Instructor is primarily responsible for teaching Flagger Force technical classes, evaluating students, making recommendations for promotions, mentoring and developing potential future instructors (FT2s), and providing curriculum feedback. This role emphasizes advanced instruction techniques, innovative teaching strategies, and active participation in curriculum development, all while acting in accordance with company values, vision, and mission.

Responsibilities
- Utilize and implement innovative teaching methods and strategies to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Mentor and develop new Field Trainers (FT2s), providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ensure their success and growth.
- Actively participate in providing feedback and suggestions for curriculum improvements, ensuring training materials are accurate, relevant, and effective.
- Instruct classroom learning courses and administer hands-on training for various courses.
- Test and evaluate all students, record grades, and dismiss non-eligible students.
- Make objective recommendations for career development to the Field Managers.
- Monitor student engagement and learning levels throughout various training classes.
- Review all training materials to ensure accuracy and relevance.
- Assist with creating and updating training curriculum, including classroom curriculum, hands-on training, and electronic training methods.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized classroom at all times.
- Responsible for inventory of classroom materials.
- Conduct, attend, and participate in various department or branch meetings as necessary.
- Collaborate with peers, managers, and directors to ensure alignment with Flagger Force processes and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Academy Training Supervisor, Training Manager, or VP of Risk and Safety.

- Strong student engagement and evaluation skills.
- Ability to manage classroom logistics and maintain organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Steel toed boots or the ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Maintain valid internal training certifications through Flagger Force Academy
- Maintain adequate certification to conduct assigned training (i.e., ATSSA)
- One ( 1) year(s) experience with Flagger Force
- Previous construction & supervisory experience
- Previous teaching or instructing experience
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical and reasoning skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
