We are looking to hire an HR Specialist in the city of Commerce, CA. . This is a Contract to Hire opportunity to join our HR Team!
Pay: $30.00- $34.00 /hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Job Type: Full-Time, On-site
JOB SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Specialist provides assistance with and facilitates the human resource processes. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function, including payroll processing, record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS. You will play a critical role in ensuring that employees are paid timely and accurately on a regular basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Monitor and track attendance point system
• Preparing security badges for restricted areas.
• Generate attendance disciplinary documents and email to supervisor for review
• Create and send various management reports
• Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Conduct new hire orientation in collaboration with HR Generalist
• Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files
• Files documents into appropriate employee files
• Assists or prepares correspondence as requested
• Assists with processing of termination documentation.
• Independently coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment processes, including requisition creation, job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer administration
• Conduct regular audits of employee records to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
• Assist with workplace investigations
• Prepares new-employee files
• Assist in processing weekly and bi-weekly payrolls in ADP
• Assist HR Director and HR team with special projects
• Complete and provide wage verifications upon request
• Facilitate site-wide events, such as benefits fairs, volunteer efforts, and team celebrations
• Respond to initial unemployment claims and employment verifications
• Help prepare, reconcile, and distribute W-2’s and other payroll reports, as requested
• Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department
• Other duties as requested

• Must have computer knowledge of MS Office Suite
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Minimum associate’s degree required. Bachelor's degree in HR/Business (preferred).
• 1–3 years of administrative experience, preferably in HR or a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Familiarity with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) compliance, security badging, or union environments is highly valued.
• Proficient in Spanish and English.
