About the Role:
- We are seeking a Director of Facilities Operations to lead all aspects of facilities and building operations at Private, Non-Profit, Community Hospital in Needham. This hospital provides emergency care, surgery, intensive care, and specialty services. Recent upgrades include new surgical suites and a cutting-edge cancer center.
- As Director, you will ensure the hospital remains safe, efficient, and fully compliant, while supporting top-tier patient care. You’ll oversee maintenance, manage projects, ensure regulatory readiness, and lead a skilled team of technicians and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all facility operations: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and infrastructure systems.
- Lead preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure system reliability.
- Ensure full compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, and other regulatory agencies.
- Plan and manage capital improvement projects and renovations.
- Hire, train, and manage a multidisciplinary team of maintenance staff and technicians.
- Work closely with hospital leadership to support clinical operations.
- Oversee emergency preparedness, safety, and sustainability initiatives.
- May also supervise other client-managed services such as security, laundry, and grounds keeping.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
- 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance standards (Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA).
- Proven experience in capital project planning and vendor coordination.
- CHFM certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of management and functional experience in facilities operations.
- Experience in healthcare environment is required.
- Regulatory compliance and capital project management experience.
