Architectural Associate

Overview

How will your days be spent

• Prepare presentation materials (conceptual drawings, 3D renderings visualization, digital 3D physical models).
• Develop and modify design technical solutions throughout all phases of a project.
• Contribute to design discussions, idea generation, design work in drawing, model, and 3D image formats.
• Work closely with team members to complete projects on aggressive schedules by meeting deadlines within expected time budget constraints.
• Generate revisions corrections from outline mock-ups, redlined drawings project documents.
• Attend client meetings to observe process develop presentation skills.
• Participate in construction site visits to understand the process.
• Recognize conflicts that arise during construction offer alternatives to resolve these issues.

What you bring to this role

Experience:

• Previous internship experience preferred.
• Relevant architectural experience in one of Flad’s market segments is preferred.
• Portfolio that demonstrates a high level of skill in design thinking presentation media required. 

Software:

• Proficiency in Rhino or SketchUp 3D rendering software required.
• Beginner Revit knowledge required; have at least one year of recent Revit experience in an academic or professional setting. Understands how Revit works but may not have completed a project from start to finish. Has made edits to existing drawings, models, etc. Intermediate Revit knowledge preferred.
• Experience with real-time rendering engines (Enscape, Twin Motion) to generate still animations renderings, Augmented Reality (AR) Virtual Reality (VR), visual scripting programs (Grasshopper Dynamo), Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD preferred.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture required. NAAB-accredited professional degree or Master’s degree in architecture preferred.
• Sustainability accreditation preferred.
