The right candidate will possess the versatility to effectively practice across inpatient, outpatient, and infusion center environments. Key Responsibilities: Inpatient: Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic studies. Acute management of hematology and oncology patients in the inpatient setting Evaluate and triage new consults Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication management Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and discharge planning Participate in care coordination with other providers and specialties. Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards. Infusion: Evaluate patients prior to chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive infusions Ensure treatment readiness, including lab review, toxicity assessment, and performance status evaluation. Authorize and manage treatment plans in accordance with clinical protocols Identify and manage infusion-related reactions and adverse events Collaborate with pharmacy and infusion nursing to ensure safe and effective therapy delivery Outpatient Oncology Clinic: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including history, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Develop and manage individualized treatment plans in collaboration with medical oncologists. Monitor disease progression, treatment response, and symptom burden Prescribe and adjust oncology therapies, supportive medications, and symptom management regimens. Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits. Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, and medication management Participate in care coordination with other providers and specialties. Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record Maintain compliance with organizational policies, regulatory guidelines, and best practice standards. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant. Current Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida.
