Job Title: Crate Builder Position Type: Full Time
Department/Location: Custom Crating Position Status Non-Exempt
Reports To: Crate Builder Supervisor Travel Required: No Travel
Summary of Position
The Crate Builder builds custom crates for shipment of products. Using a variety of saws, nail guns, staple guns, etc., the Crate Builder is responsible for building shipping crates that withstand the rigors of shipping.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Construct crates using wood, nails, and nail guns & staple guns
Make sure crates are in good condition (Repair when needed)
Maintain a steady workflow by following procedures accurately and timely
Perform duties with minimal supervision
Keep the work area in a clean and orderly condition
Perform assigned duties with quality in mind
Follow all company instructions, safety policies, and rules
Perform Other Duties As Required And/or Assigned.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
Prior Manufacturing Experience (preferred)
Prior Woodworking experience (preferred)
Preferred Skills And Abilities
Ability to follow verbal instructions
Ability to read color labels and identify products
Ability to read tape measure
Ability to use saw, nail guns, and other hand tools
Basic math skills
Forklift training
