Position Overview
The 2nd Assistant Superintendent will support the Golf Course Superintendent and leadership team in ensuring championship-level playing conditions across all golf facilities. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a high-expectation environment, is eager to grow into future leadership positions, and is passionate about agronomy, golf, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the team in daily golf course maintenance tasks to create and sustain championship playing conditions.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and supervising staff.
Support plant protectant and fertilizer applications, including record keeping and equipment upkeep.
Assist with irrigation system repairs and water management decisions.
Contribute to all aspects of golf course maintenance, including mowing, course set-up, hand watering, drainage, and other related tasks.
Manage inventory of plant protection products and fertilizers.
Assist in training and orienting new employees in all aspects of golf course maintenance.
Participate in integrated pest management and course scouting.
Communicate daily with the Superintendent regarding course conditions, event planning, and overall club activities.

3 years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.

Technical skills in plant protectant applications, irrigation systems, equipment operation/maintenance, soil science, and water management.
