MID-LEVEL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
JOB SUMMARY
Following the successful launch of our Landscape Architecture division, we are seeking a motivated and experienced Landscape Architect to join our growing team. You will work directly with our Senior Planner/Landscape Architect (20 years of experience) to bridge the gap between creative concept and technical execution. This role is designed for a professional who has outgrown entry-level production and is ready to take ownership of projects, navigate municipal codes, and serve as a primary point of contact for clients and consultants.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT: Collaborate on conceptual landscape and hardscape designs, translating client visions into innovative, functional outdoor spaces.
2. PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Work independently to move projects through all phases, from schematic design to final construction administration.
3. TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION: Produce and manage complete, permit-ready construction document packages, including grading plans, planting schedules, and site and hardscape details.
4. CODE & COMPLIANCE: Conduct thorough research on municipal zoning, land development standards, and environmental regulations to ensure all designs are fully compliant.
5. CLIENT & CONSULTANT LIASON: Serve as a clear, professional communicator when meeting with clients, civil engineers, and architects to coordinate multi-disciplinary project goals.
6. SITE INVESTIGATIONS: Ability to perform site analysis and field investigations to evaluate existing conditions, drainage, and topography if needed
REQUIREMENTS
1. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5–10 years of professional experience in a landscape architecture firm or integrated design office.
2. SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY: Expert-level skills in AutoCAD (Land F/X a plus), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and Revit.
3. LICENSURE: Licensed Landscape Architect (PLA) or track to licensure preferred but not required.
4. COMMUNICATION: Exceptional verbal, written, and graphic communication skills; hand graphic skills preferred but not required.
5. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an LAAB-accredited program – preferred but not required.
6. PORTFOLIO: A professional portfolio that highlights both creative design work and technical documentation.
