Quality Engineer

fJscaler
Beaverton, OR Full Time
POSTED ON 9/2/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/1/2026

fJscaler is looking for a Quality Engineer to own execution of our current Quality Management System (QMS) and help mature it as the company scales. Day to day, this means running and improving existing quality processes, formalizing practices that are ad-hoc, and building new processes to support new development and production ventures. This is not a role focused on one narrow aspect of business or technical specialty. It's about working across the entire organization, learning technical details to the extent necessary to understand issues, and using judgment to apply QA concepts where they have the most impact.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute the current QMS

  • Own day-to-day operation of existing quality processes: oversee inspections, corrective/preventive actions, supplier quality checks, documentation control.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for inspection and acceptance of engineering and production processes.
  • Perform internal audits of all processes and help implement corrective actions and process improvements.

Mature the QMS as we grow

  • Convert ad-hoc quality practices into documented, repeatable processes with clear ownership and buy-in.
  • Evaluate new inspection technologies and tooling (e.g., automated optical inspection) — researching equipment/consultants, understanding supplier capability, and designing experiments to validate performance claims.
  • Help develop process monitors and supplier feedback processes.

CULTURE

  • Build consensus and influence outcomes through relationships and reasoning rather than positional authority.
  • Move comfortably between process/documentation work and technical investigation.
  • Get up to speed quickly in unfamiliar technical or operational areas, enough to ask the right questions and support good decisions.
  • Exercise excellent judgment about what level of process and rigor is right for the stage of maturity of each product line.
  • Default to a non-confrontational, collaborative approach when resolving disagreements or gaps between teams.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. in Electrical engineering, physics, or related
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
  • 2-5 years of relevant QA/quality engineering experience or significant interaction with QA in other organizations.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship.
